Aerial Mosaics (Mapping)
Larger areas of land than can be imaged by a single photograph can be mapped using Blue River's UAV (or FPV) technology and digital post processing.
The UAVs low operating height produces the highest quality aerial imaging possible with little or no atmospheric interference (cloud, haze etc).
With the UAV able to take up to up to 300 high quality images per sq kilometer, at 2cm to 5cm resolution, the detail surpasses anything else currently available today.
Best satellite imagery is generally 50cm resolution; ours is up to 100 times finer than the best satellite data. Individual images are digitally stitched together to form a mosaic (an image map). These mosaics can be georeferenced or split into component parts for simpler analysis. We have produced highly detailed mosaics for clients in excess of 300mb per image. These can of course be compressed for easier file management.
With this method extended studies can be carried out and repeated when required. This can result in data that measures and quantifies change. Images can be draped over 3D models, used in GIS (Geographical Information Services) and linked with LIDAR surveys.
